Songs, podcasts, commercial jingles—they’re all just clicks away at Level Up’s two audio production studios. Record live and digital sounds, work out your final mix using the studio's software, and your new masterpiece is ready for your fans.
 
Getting Started
In-depth lessons on recording audio are available free through the Library's subscription to lynda.com. Instructions for using specific equipment and software can be found below, and on Level Up’s Digital Workstations page.
 
Making a Reservation
Getting into a sound booth at Level Up is easy. Just use Dibs, our online booking system, to reserve Audio Production Studio 1 or Studio 2.

»Akai MPK249

The Akai MPK 49 is a 49-key, semi-weighted keyboard with 12 backlit percussion pads, assignable knobs and faders, and more. With the MPK 49, thousands of sounds can be controlled through Level Up’s audio software (Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 9, and Propellerhead Reason 8)—from common instruments like guitars, basses, and drums to more unusual instruments like mellotrons, zithers, and gamelans. The controller’s ultra-sensitive keys and pads ensure that audio sounds realistic and organic. Eight knobs and faders allow assignment for up to 64 track parameters when using 4 banks to make recording and mixing a more hands-on experience.

»Roland TD - 11K

The Roland TD-11K is an electronic drum kit with a natural feel and sound. A large, editable sound library is available featuring many different distinct genre-inspired sounds. It can be used with the drum kit sounds contained in the module itself, or it can act as a MIDI controller, triggering drum samples in programs like Logic Pro X.
